From Wooden Swords to Bespoke Designs: My Journey in Furniture Making
My adventure in furniture began in my elementary school days when I started making wooden swords inspired by Darth Vader. This journey was sparked by my father's role as a teacher at an industrial school. Over the years, it has evolved into a passion for designing and producing unique pieces. Every single piece of wood I have held, I tried to improve, create, and share. Time has always been kind to me, rewarding my efforts in various ways: sometimes with high grades in university for a carved wooden chest, other times with my son's beautiful smile when I made him little wooden toys. My designs and projects have even garnered awards and set new turnover targets for the companies I've worked with.
Throughout my career, I have always pursued the latest developments to enhance my skills. I made it a point to work in every aspect of the wood and furniture business, and I believe I have succeeded. In both my professional and personal life, honesty, joviality, and affection have been my guiding principles, lighting my way.
After a long career as a furniture manufacturer and designer, I launched Atacan Design in 2020. My extensive knowledge of bespoke furniture manufacturing has helped me gain professional qualifications. Over 16 years in a modular mass production furniture factory, I worked on hundreds of projects as an R&D and project manager.
I spent countless hours visualizing various furniture models, creating manufacturing drawings, cutting lists, and assembly instructions. My dedication to producing the best products led me to conduct extensive research in front of the computer.
I consider myself fortunate to have collaborated with some of the best designers and architects in the industry, learning from their years of experience. My hard work and commitment over the years will undoubtedly be reflected in my new business. I have excellent organizational skills and can manage multiple resources, budgets, and strict schedules.
