A Little About Audrey And Irene Gifts
Welcome to Audrey & Irene.
Audrey & Irene was named after the two biggest female influences in my life, my Grandma Audrey and my Mom Irene. I admired in them, the courage and strength they showed in the most challenging times, and the humor and grace in which they approached those times and daily life. Family was everything to them. I intended to name my own daughter Audrey Irene to honor them. This store is my baby instead.
Grandma Audrey was diagnosed in the early 80’s with breast cancer. She passed in 1987 at age 53. Mom Irene was diagnosed the day Grandma passed. She was 34. She had surgical intervention and lived to age 69. She passed in 2022 of compilations from a botched back surgery. I was her caregiver for nearly 12 years. In 2023, when I turned 53, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I did surgical intervention and hormone therapy. Things are going well. My reason for bringing this up, you’ll notice I have breast cancer merchandise in my shop. Early detection is the best cure. I knew I was a high risk, but between caring for Mom, COVID etc, I neglected myself for a few years. I was on top of it my whole life, until I wasn’t and it got past me. I did still catch it pretty early. Self care, health care, mental healthcare, peace, love, joy and laughter, do whatever makes you happy and makes you feel good.
Since I was a small child, I was distracted by pretty things, colorful rocks, seashells, flowers, butterflies and anything nature related or colorful. That's what still inspires me, what restores me - nature, trees, wildlife and bright colorful things. That is the common theme running through my store.
At Audrey & Irene, we offer quality products, at competitive prices. If I wouldn't wear it or buy it, I won't sell it. (Ok, that's mostly true. I would never wear a bikini again, but I do sell them :)
