Frequently asked questions

Will I receive a physical print or frame?

No. Your purchase is a digital artwork download. No physical print or frame will be shipped. You can print the artwork at home, through a local print shop, or with an online professional printing service.

How do I download my artwork

Once Etsy confirms your payment, sign in to Etsy.com in a web browser and open Purchases and Reviews to download your files. Etsy currently does not support digital downloads through the Etsy app, so use a phone or computer browser instead.

How do I know which file to print?

Each artwork includes two files: one high-resolution JPG and one printing guide (PDF). The JPG is a single 2:3 file that prints at 4 × 6, 8 × 12, 12 × 18, 16 × 24, 20 × 30 or 24 × 36 inches without cropping, so just choose one of those sizes when you order. The guide walks you through paper choices and ordering.

Where should I print The Book of Light artwork?

For the best large-format results, we recommend using a professional fine-art or photo printing service. Your download will include a printing guide with recommended services, paper options, and ordering instructions. Local professional print shops are also a good option.

What paper do you recommend?

For the refined gallery look shown in our images, we recommend a smooth archival matte or fine-art paper. If you prefer a little more luminosity, a satin or lustre finish can also work beautifully. Avoid heavily textured paper unless that is the look you specifically want.

Can I share, resell, or use the files commercially?

Your purchase is for personal use only. You may send the files to a printer to create artwork for your own home or space, but the digital files may not be shared, resold, redistributed, or used to create products for sale.

Can I use a frame that isn’t 2:3, like 8 × 10 or 11 × 14?

Yes. Print at a 2:3 size that fits inside your frame, then add a mat with an opening sized to your print, about ¼ inch smaller on each side. For example, a 4 × 6 print fits an 8 × 10 frame with a 3½ × 5½ inch mat opening, and an 8 × 12 print fits a 16 × 20 frame with a 7½ × 11½ inch opening. Please don’t crop or stretch the artwork, so the full border and label stay intact.
