Where Heirlooms Come Home — Seeds & Coffee from the Kansas Prairie
There’s something about dropping a seed into good Kansas soil and waiting.
It’s an act of hope. And patience. And that quiet belief that something worth tending is already on its way.
At Autumn Prairie Pumpkins, we grow and source rare heirloom pumpkin seeds out of Newton, Kansas — with a particular love for Cucurbita moschata, the naturally vine borer resistant family that holds its own even when the heat bears down. Open-pollinated. Non-GMO. Kansas-tested season after season, by hand.
Varieties like the burnished French Musquée de Provence, the ancient Seminole from Florida’s forests, the pale-gold Long Island Cheese that looks right at home on an autumn porch, the sweet little Honeynut, and the graceful Tromboncino — each one picked for its flavor, its beauty, and the kind of stubborn goodness that outlasts a hard summer.
Every seed we send out has been grown, trialed, and chosen right here on Kansas soil. We know what holds up in drought. We know what makes the best pie. And we know what’ll make your neighbors stop and stare come harvest time.
We also roast two small-batch coffees — Prairie Blaze (medium roast, bold and smoky, built for cold mornings) and Prairie Sunrise (smooth, honey-almond, for when the light comes up slow and golden over flat Kansas fields) — because every good garden day deserves a great cup to start it.
