Hello and welcome!
I’m Alexandra, a Londoner living in Southern California. My little studio, A v E H d e s i g n s, overlooks a beautiful canyon and it is here that I paint, create, pack and ship cards around the globe — once even to a lovely scientist stationed in Antarctica!
A v E H d e s i g n s was born from a love of art and the special feeling of receiving a handwritten note from someone you love. I used to make hand-painted cards for close family and friends, each one unique. After encouragement from a family friend, I opened my Etsy shop shortly after my daughter was born, creating cards while she napped and while my three-year-old son played beside me.
A couple of viral features later, I turned to hand-printing my designs to keep up with orders. Today, every card is still cut, folded, packaged and shipped by me from my little studio.
Over the years I’ve met wonderful customers through Etsy, some of whom have ordered from me for many years. I now create invitations for children whose very first birthday invitations I designed when they were babies, and who are now teenagers.
My cards are simple, cheeky and created with love to make you smile, or perhaps giggle a little. I use ink and Japanese watercolours, printed on high-quality cardstock.
