When Hurricane Maria devasted Puerto Rico, I was appalled with the lack of support from the United States. Thousands of people were killed, lost their homes, their livelihoods, and remain affected in the aftermath of Maria to this day.

After observing this egregious oversight, I needed to know why. Why did we fail Puerto Rico? Why did we let OUR people suffer for so long? And the answer was simple-a sheer lack of representation in our media and popular culture. Based on a poll by Morning Consult, only 54 percent of Americans know that people born in Puerto Rico are U.S. citizens. In addition to Trump's infamous quote, "Puerto Ricans are the worst kind of Mexican..." I was lead to create my very first pin and launch this business.

I endeavor to represent Puerto Rican culture through my pin designs, eventually representing other Latin cultures in the world. Through this exposure, I will promote the appreciation and understanding of Latin cultures present in the United States.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

As of right now I do not provide custom or personalized orders, though I would like to in the future.

Sizing details

Pin sizes vary. For example, "Mi Isla Se Levanta" is 1.5in (3.81cm) in length whereas future pins may be 3in (7.62cm) at most.

Care instructions

Hard enamel pins are tough and can take a beating. Though I would not recommend placing them on sites of excessive movement where exposure may lead to scraping of the fine details on the pin's surface. If you would like to ensure your pin doesn't get scraped to high heaven, please refrain from attaching it to your sleeves, pants, purse straps, phone cases, etc.

If you get some smudges/fingerprints on the pin just use a fine microfiber cloth, like the kind used for correcting smudges on glasses to clean it.

If you spill any kind of food product onto your pin, please refrain from using cleaning chemicals to wash it. Some products are abrasive and can eat away at the laminate that protects the pin. Just use water.

Care instructions

In addition, please refrain from submerging your pin in water for prolonged periods of time. Some bodies of water may contain chemicals that will eat away at the metal and laminate, tarnish the metal, or damage the fine detailed work.

To be safe, always wipe it off as soon as it gets wet to avoid any issues.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I am looking into providing special wrapping and packaging for the incoming holiday season at an additional cost, so please look forward to that announcement sometime in November this year.

Wholesale availability

To ensure the quality of my works is never jeopradized for the sake of sales, I do not provide any wholesale deals for my products.

Will you design pins for Latin countries other than Puerto Rico?

Yes! I am starting with Puerto Rico as that is my very own culture, but I am designing pieces for the Dominican Republic (as I am half Dominican) next in my timeline.

After the Dominican Republic, I plan to cover Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, Guatemala, and so on in no particular order. I will present a voting poll to ask you, my customers, which culture you would like for me to cover next when I reach that point in my business timeline. I look forward to hearing from you all :)

Do you ship to Puerto Rico?

¡Pero claro que si! I ship all over the United States and that includes Borinquen!

What do I do if I want to order a pin that is no longer in stock?

Pins that are no longer in stock will be available for pre-order on my Kickstarter account. I will provide that information when the need arises.

Depending on the pin, (if it is a new design or just a restock) I will generally provide incentives to those who pre-order my pins. If you happen to be present for a new pin production, I encourage you to pre-order as you will get both a sticker of the new pin and a discount for your purchase!

Restock Kickstarter campaigns however will not have any incentives for your pre-order.

Once a campaign reaches its goal, I will immediately produce the new pin (restock the old pin) and deliver it to you as soon as I receive them from my manufacturer. Further details will be made available.

What is your return policy?

I will accept any returns within my given parameters.

In the event that you want to make a return/exchange, please contact me within 5 days of delivery. That means within 5 days of you having received the pin, not within 5 days of me shipping it.

Additionally, please ship the pin back to me within 7 days of delivery so that I can ensure your money gets back to you promptly.

If a pin is damaged through the shipping process (I really hope that never happens) I will gladly accept your return. Although I require that you provide photo proof of the damaged pin before I accept your return.

*I would also encourage you to allow me to send you another pin to replace the damaged one as an exchange rather than a return.
