Wer wir sind: Brighten Your Life Creations (BYLC) ist der aktuelle Stand eines sich ständig verändernden Kunsthandwerksunternehmens, das von meiner Frau Gina und mir als kreatives Ventil und eine unterhaltsame Möglichkeit für uns gegründet wurde, eine gute Familienzeit miteinander zu verbringen. BYLC entstand als "Claythings" - unser erstes Abenteuer in der Kunsthandwerksgemeinschaft - und es passte perfekt zu unserer Familie. Die Kunstform war Töpferei, mit Gina am Steuer und mir als Glaser- und Ofenbediener. Unser Geschäft bezog die ganze Familie auf die eine oder andere Weise ein: Die Kinder konnten die Wochenendferien zu Messen im gesamten Südwesten und Geburtstagsfeiern mit Kunsthandwerksprojekten für Freunde und Klassenkameraden genießen. Das Schaffen von Kunsthandwerk wurde zu einem erhebenden Bestandteil unseres Familienlebens.
Was als Hobby neben zwei Vollzeitjobs begann, entwickelte sich bald zu einem teuren Hobby, dann zu einem Teilzeitunternehmen, um die Materialkosten zu decken. Wie sich herausstellte, machte der Besuch der Shows und Festivals, um unsere Kreationen zu zeigen und zu vermarkten, tatsächlich Spaß, und in Kombination mit der Tatsache, dass die Leute bereit waren, ihre hart verdienten Dollars gegen unsere Kreationen einzutauschen, begannen wir zu denken, dass wir hier etwas vorhatten! Geld verdienen und Spaß haben - wer würde das schon tun?
Als unsere Kinder gewachsen sind, sind sie mehr in das Geschäft involviert und haben geholfen, Perlen und Steine in die Drahtkunst zu wickeln, am Stand bei Shows zu helfen und BYLC im Allgemeinen mit kreativen Ideen zu unterstützen.
Im Laufe der Zeit entwickelten sich unsere Kunstformen von Keramik zu dekorativen Steinbrunnen und saftigen Pflanzgefäßen, zu verschiedenen Arten von Windspielen und schließlich zu den kupfernen Windskulpturen und Drahtkunst, die Sie heute auf unseren Shows und auf dieser Website sehen.
BYLC ist das Ergebnis einer stetigen Weiterentwicklung unserer Suche nach einem kreativen Ventil und der Suche nach einer Kunstform, die unsere Kunden am meisten anspricht. Wir behalten uns wirklich den Namen unseres Unternehmens vor Augen, der unser Motto widerspiegelt: Wir wollen mit unseren "Kreationen Ihr Leben erhellen". Wir hoffen, dass Sie feststellen, dass unsere Werke Ihr Leben genauso erhellen wie unseres!
Technique: Our wire art is all turned, twisted, shaped and assembled by hand. EACH item. No machining, not templates, no automation. We are able to customize colors of beads in some cases, so feel free to ask. No guarantees, but we strive to satisfy.
Who we are: Brighten Your Life Creations (BYLC) is the current state of an ever- changing arts and crafts business founded by my wife Gina and I as a creative outlet and a fun way for us to spend some quality family time together. BYLC originated as "Claythings"--our first venture into the arts and crafts community--and it suited our family perfectly. The art form was pottery, with Gina at the wheel and me as the glazer and kiln operator. Our business involved the whole family in one way or another: the kids got to enjoy the weekend vacations to trade shows throughout the Southwest and birthday parties featuring arts and crafts projects for friends and classmates. Creating arts and crafts became an uplifting fixture in our family life.
What started off as a hobby on top of two full times jobs, soon evolved into an expensive hobby, then part-time enterprise to help cover costs of materials. As it turned out, attending the shows and festivals to display and market our creations was actually fun, and combined with the fact that people were willing to exchange their hard earned dollars for our creations, we began to think that we were on to something here! Making money and having fun - who'd of thunk it?
As our kids have grown, they have become more involved in the business and have helped to wrap beads and stones in the wire art, help out in the booth at shows, and generally support BYLC with creative ideas.
Over time, our art forms evolved from pottery to decorative stone fountains and succulent planters, to various types of wind-chimes and finally, into the copper wind sculptures and wire art that you see at out shows and on this website today.
BYLC is the result of a steady progression of our search for a creative outlet and finding an art form that most appeals to our customers. We really do keep in mind the name of our business, which reflects our motto: We want to "Brighten Your Life" with our "Creations." We hope you find our works brighten your life as much as they have ours!
