Finding my creative streak!
After a lifetime in the highly technical world of telecommunications and the internet, I finally took early retirement to swap the analytical left side of my brain for the creative right side. While I officially became a full-time professional photographer in 2008, my passion for the craft began when I first picked up a camera over 50 years ago.
Rather than focusing on wedding or portrait photography, I initially built my career licensing my images to major magazines, websites, and media companies. Over the years, I've built a portfolio of over 25,000 images that have been used worldwide over 400,000 times!
Recently, I decided to change my focus. I wanted to bring joy directly to individuals looking for an image of a place they love—a piece of art to decorate their home and allow them to relive cherished memories. Perhaps it’s the city they call home, the beach they visited on their honeymoon, or the college they graduated from. A great photograph can trigger those memories each time you glance up at it.
To do this, I have whittled those 25,000 photos down to my absolute favorites—the ones that capture a scene in the perfect light. People often think a photographer just needs the best equipment to capture a great photo, but patience is truly the key. It takes patience to ignore a shot if the light is boring, or to get up long before sunrise to capture the first rays of morning light that turn a snapshot into a work of art.
I take that same patient, hands-on approach to bringing these images to life. From my home base in the Austin, Texas area, I personally oversee the printing process. For paper prints up to 16x20 inches, I print, inspect, and package every single piece right in my own studio before mailing it directly to your door, ensuring the art you hang on your wall perfectly matches my original vision.
For my canvas, metal, and larger format prints, I partner with only the finest professional print labs. Even when these pieces ship directly from the lab, I stand entirely behind them—if a piece arrives and isn't absolutely perfect, I will replace it.
I am continuously adding more photographs to my Etsy Store week by week. If you don't immediately see what you are looking for, please contact me. It might be next on my list!
