My name is Travis and I'm the owner of Bad Boy Bow Tie and I want to teach you about what makes a great bow tie.
There are a few things you need to consider when buying a REAL bow tie. Does the tie stretch when you pull on it? It needs to have some give and if it does, then the fabric was cut on the bias. The means that it was cut on a 45 degree angle and allow to the fabric to be elastic as well as fluid. The disadvantage is that the bow tie tailor has to use more fabric and this adds to the cost. The interface, again need to be cut on the bias, but should be woven. This provides the bow tie with structure and support. It needs to have enough strength to support the tie, but not compete with fabric look and feel. I prefer a woven sew in interface, over the iron on. Iron on interface can change have a dramatic change to the look at feel of the material. Another thing to consider, is did the tailor just cut the ends of the tie and fold them over when adding the clips? This adds to the thickness of the tie, and can have a lumpy feel to it. The last thing to consider is the company making the bow tie. Are the knowledgeable of the product and are responsive to your questions?
Bad Boy Bow Ties, are unique in the fact that they help bridge the gap between a self tie bow tie, and clip on. You can order the tie pre tied and you can just adjust the neck size. You could leave it like that, or you can untie it at the end if a evening, for that classic look. One thing to understand is that real bow ties do not look perfect and by learning to tie them, you can impress others, and share your knowledge.
Your Bad Boy Bow Tie will come in two pieces to allow you to tie the bow off your neck. This really helps when learning because you can really see what's going on and under Once you are confident in your bow tie skills, you can clip the ends together, and tie it around your neck.
Thank you.
