About Bagasak
À propos de Bagasak
One fine winter's day in 2015, after counting down the pile of plastic bags her man had accumulated after each visit to the comic book store, Mélanie Racine decided to look into a glaring problem: how to do without a plastic bag when buying a book, without risking damaging it? That's how she came up with the idea of a reusable, collapsible cloth bag with features designed to protect large and small books, comics, fragile paper bindings and even e-readers.
Over the next 2 years, she fine-tuned her idea, perfected her sewing skills and learned silk-screen printing, so that the bag would have all the qualities she was looking for, AND be a beautiful, one-of-a-kind object to behold. That Bachelor's degree in visual and media arts has to serve a purpose after all. TA-DAM! Bagasak was born... a reusable bag with a unique design in water-repellent fabric, foldable and convertible, to carry and protect just about anything: books or vinyl records, everyday shopping items or even travel, beach or hiking essentials.
Bagasak can be part of the solution to the accumulation of single-use plastics. Find all the qualities of the plastic bag and more, without the guilt of not doing your eco-responsible bit.
What's more, Bagasak is made entirely in Canada, in collaboration with local social and professional integration enterprises. Each Bagasak purchase therefore directly supports access to employment for immigrants or people who have encountered certain difficulties in the course of their lives.
Bagasak, at last a reusable bag that can be adapted to suit your needs, while taking care of the planet and its tenants.
