Handmade for the home
I discovered the delights of lavender about 20 years ago when I came upon an old velvet sachet at a flea market. That small moment sparked a lasting idea - to begin making sachets as heartfelt gifts. Since that time I've made an untold number of them in many shapes and sizes - strawberries, birds, hearts, fish, and of course the classic square.
I’ve always been drawn to beautiful fabrics, especially antique textiles, and I regularly wander local flea markets in search of them. There’s something deeply satisfying about giving these vintage materials new life - transforming them into something both useful and meaningful. A lavender sachet is a simple, lovely way to bring that renewed beauty into someone’s home.
Everything at Leaf and Lavender is made by me in my studios in a home on a hill above the coast of Southern California. One room is filled with shelves holding old linens, baskets of sachets, books, and a table that's usually covered with works in progress. The other is a little room for painting (separate because fabric and oil paints don't mix well!).
While lavender holds a special place in my heart, I simply love making things. My shop reflects that joy, offering a thoughtful mix of handmade pieces - sachets, original oil paintings, pincushions, and seasonal creations. Always handmade.
