I came from a farming family and was raised in the Philippines Island. I am a very crafty person, I sew, I draw, I do paper crafts, scrap booking, decorating, you name it. I grew up with these hobbies and I learned it all from my mom who sews and crochets, as well. I love to spend most of my time self-studying, researching and crafting. It makes me feel relaxed and productive.
Because of my farming background and my life on the Philippines Island, I have a knowledge of plants and herbal medicine (I grew up on it). I have the knowledge, but I didn’t know how to apply it at first. So I kept researching and experimenting until I found the right materials and supplies needed. At first, I just infused the plants my mom grows in our yard, and I came up with products that were going to solve my own skin problems. I have a sensitive skin, I scar fast, I get rashes from my own sweat, and my skin is way too thin from too much bleaching to get whiter skin when I was 13 years old. I enjoyed making products for myself and have made a lot which was just sitting in my house. I wanted other people to benefit from it and prove themselves how effective it is. So, I started giving it away to my family and relatives and was surprised about their feedback. I was advised to sell it so a lot more people benefit from it too.
I started researching on how I can get my products in the market and turn it into profit without leaving the house. I currently am a stay at home single mom and I wanted to focus on growing my home-based business. Most people in my family are crafty, as well, but nobody had the guts to be out there in the market and open a business. I wanted to be the first one. It’s a challenge for me and it’s for the future of my son that mommy takes care of his future while being home all the time. I opened my shop on Etsy on Aug.12, 2015. I still keep self-studying and researching and see to it that I keep improving my products. Crafting is my passion and I love every single bit of it.
