A custom swimsuit factory!
I have been sewing since the age of 14 when my mother taught me. Be-Bops was started when I began making natural baby clothes for my youngest child. I lovingly made coats, baby diapers and diaper covers. I always made formal dresses for my daughter and once she got to High School she asked me to make swimsuits. At that time I worked at a design house and the designer gave me a whole roll of nylon/spandex swimsuit with which to practice. It took about a year of designing and messing up and learning, but I finally had a bikini that my daughter loved.
I decided it was my turn for a custom swimsuit, and I knew exactly what I wanted but I could never find in the stores. I wanted a skirted bottom, but not "old lady" skirted. I wanted to be able to wear a suit as a bikini, but also as a one piece, in case I felt like more coverage... like when we pull our boat up to a restaurant on the river, I did not want to handle the boat lines in a bikini!
This is how the diva-KINI was born and has made many other women feel secure about relaxing on a beach, the boat, or by the pool
My high waisted designs were created from just natural knowledge of how to flatter the female form. Where the fabric ends, the eye goes.. so wouldn't you naturally end the swim fabric at the smallest point of your high waist? Most women have a problem area below the belly button and most swimwear starts the "waist" there. Bringing the waist higher reveals the hourglass figure and is the most flattering silhouette.
I have showcased my designs in local Fashion Weeks here in St. Pete, Florida and I have been published in Pinup magazines as well as local magazines. As a small batch designer, I am able to connect with each customer and find the perfect fit and swimsuit for her.
When a customer tells me that they are actually looking forward to going to the beach in their swimsuit for the first time in years, I am elated.
