Etsy's shipping calculator almost always overestimates multiple item shipments and doesn’t factor in my shipper discounts, so you can always rely on me to automatically and cheerfully refund the excess that you paid. I issue refunds A LOT! - on about 90% of purchases. Refunds vary anywhere from 50 cents to over $20. I never price gouge on shipping - all prices are what it costs me.
For my Canadian friends: with my discounts, shipping costs to you are often 1/2 or 1/4 of what Etsy estimates. I will happily refund you any savings! Want a formal estimate from me, just ask - I am happy to calculate.

It's a decision I had to make and it's the way I feel I can best serve the Etsy community and offer the best pricing.

Did you know that crochet always uses more yarn than knitting? Due to the way the fabric is made in loops rather than twists, crochet fabric tends to be thicker and uses more yarn yardage. Also, some crochet stitches are "yarn eaters". A single crochet is going to use a lot less yarn than a bobble stitch. Be aware of the "yarn eater" stitches and buy more yarn if needed.

My yarn is either from my own personal stash or acquired from manufacturers at discount prices. I only carry over retail cost yarn upon request. I am not a price gouger. If I have to charge more than retail, I will call it out in the listing.

I often look on Ravelry or Pinterest to get inspiration on patterns and to see how yarns work up.

If I can’t find something in one of those places, I might just work up a small swatch – some people call these Frankenswatches – that are sacrificial swatches where you experiment with knit, crochet, various widths, various stitch types – to see what you think might look best with a yarn you have on hand. These Frankenswatches can be frogged (ripped out) or left aside as practice scraps.
