Following the Path to Be You Beautiful
I never intended to become an artist that profits from their craft, but my life path took a unique turn in 2006. On a whim at a craft store, I bought a bunch of beads and, self teaching the jewelry making process, started Michelle Thompson Designs, Jewelry That Speaks to You. I participated in Artisan Fairs and Arts and Crafts shows for a few years, gaining customer followings and friends, at every show. I found some shows, certain customers were there waiting for me, having saved their money, to buy a special piece! How wonderful and flattering is that?
I was introduced to Etsy and joined in 2012. I chose the name Be You Beautiful for my shop, because I feel it creates a feeling, between myself and you. I want you to always be yourself and always feel beautiful and I want to be a part of that! The journey has been a wonderful one! I have met so many wonderful people, made many friends and have been exposed to some amazing artists! I am so incredibly impressed with the level of talent on Etsy and everyone is incredibly kind and helpful! This has absolutely been the best experience.
It also opened my view, and helped bring out my global side! I am an avid traveler and the opportunity to interact with people from other countries is awesome! I love learning about and immersing myself in other cultures!
You can find me at my humble abode, in Hastings, Michigan, with my super Hubby and two kitties, working on multiple jewelry projects daily. I am constantly designing and working, always trying new things (decoupage, paint, oxidizing, wire wrapping, metal working, etc...) and always making a mess (as my hubs would tell you, lol)! The creative genius never sleeps and can come out anywhere at any time!
