Vintage Vibes
Hey, thanks for stopping by my shop! I'm a maker, esthetician, animal lover and generally artistic person with a love of old things. Both of my grandmothers were crafters and collectors of interesting vintage jewelry, hats, accessories, pottery and glassware so I come by my vintage vibes quite naturally. In my Esty shop, you will find vintage items that have a cottage, farmhouse or art deco vibe. Don't be surprised if you see a handmade item or two, either vintage and new, thrown in.
My sewing skills began way back in high school by Mrs. Wood who taught Home Ec. My projects didn't always come out the greatest, but I was inspired to keep sewing and creating outfits to express my personal style. Luckily, my sewing skills improved! I've sewn a variety of items (besides clothes for me!) over the years including baby and kids clothes, aprons, bridal veils, small handbags, makeup bags, face masks, pillows, window treatments and chair cushions.
The beach and beachy things hold a special place in my heart. The beach is a place to rest, refresh and be inspired. I have made many ruffled beach sarongs and pretty coverups for my Jamaica vacations made with colorful and sheer fabrics.
My love of ceramics developed in Mrs. Blinder's high school art class. It's so rewarding to take a lump of clay and make something wonderful out of it. I really need to get back to pottery making. You may see some of my work here one day. Meanwhile, direct me to the nearest flea market for some vintage pottery hunting.
Cats are near and dear to my heart. I care for, rescue, and find homes for feral and stray cats. Kitties need to be loved and spoiled and kept safe so I do what I can to help them. Any purchase you make from my shop helps support the care of animals in need.
Together, all of these loves have inspired my continually evolving Beach Ruffle Etsy shop.
Again, thanks for stopping by. Come back soon to see my latest additions. Follow Beach Ruffles on facebook for sneak peeks and updates. See my social media links in the Around the web section!
