Jewelry Inspired By Nature's Sparkle
I’ve always been one of those kids who didn’t just love animals—I felt called to work with them. My childhood was a little circus of pets, and I spent my days collecting nature’s treasures: feathers tucked into pockets, stones lined up on windowsills, leaves pressed between pages, and the occasional curious bug. Everything sparked my sense of wonder—and it still does.
My grandmother nurtured that curiosity by gifting me binoculars to watch birds, nature guides to help me understand what I was seeing, a National Geographic subscription, and even my very own pair of waders so I could step into creeks and discover what lived beneath the surface.
Years later, as I prepared to graduate with a degree in ecology, I woke up one morning with a new calling: to teach. That moment led me to earn my science teaching license and begin what became a 20-year journey at a nonprofit conservation organization, where I helped thousands of children and adults fall in love with animals and the natural world.
I had the privilege of traveling with students to places they had only dreamed of—tropical rainforests, desert islands, and shorelines where some touched the ocean for the very first time. Watching those moments of connection and wonder was one of the greatest joys of my life.
Not long ago, I felt another spark—this time, to help people carry that sense of connection with them every day. And so, Bead Botanist was born.
Each bracelet is inspired by the colors, textures, and magic of nature. From the brilliant flash of a goldfinch in flight, to the soft blush of coneflowers swaying in summer breezes, to the peaceful hues of a forest walk or the beloved bluebird’s gentle presence—these pieces are small, wearable reminders of the beauty that surrounds us on our one extraordinary planet. Every piece is inspired by the beauty of the natural world—and created with a commitment to protect it.
As this shop grows, my goal is to give back by supporting organizations that are working to protect wildlife, preserve natural spaces, and create meaningful connections between people and nature.
