Creating is my Passion
I find pleasure in the process of designing and creating wearable art jewelry & pendants, as well as polymer clay Tutorials. It's the reason I'm happy to get up every morning. I can't wait to get into the studio and experiment with a new idea.
When I work with clay it soothes me, both heart & soul, it’s a healing form of art. I’ve always liked making things, & working with my hands. I’m inspired each day by the beauty of nature, & its gorgeous array of colors & textures. I live in paradise, or as it's more commonly known, the West Coast of Florida!
I’ve been working with polymer clay for the last 25 years, developing techniques as I go, & researching new ideas. Creating my own techniques, and making them into a series of step-by-step, digital PDF, easy to follow tutorials. Some of my pendants are created by transferring images onto the raw clay, hand-painting the details, adding special effects like Mica Powders & Patina Inks. They are finished with a coat of 2-part epoxy resin for shine & durability!
I studied Interior Design at the Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida. I worked for many years in the design field, then happily found my way into the wonderful World of Polymer Clay.
I have an extensive background in acrylic painting, stained glass, mosaics & stenciling. I am also an avid crocheter, knitter, (have to keep my hands busy!) seamstress & quilter. I am retired, but work full-time in my Etsy shop. Actually, I don't think of it as work, it's more of my creative outlet, that brings joy to my life:)
I hope this gives you an insight into who I am. Creating art is like breathing to me, I live to do it, and polymer clay is my obsession! SJK
