Some thirty years ago, a relative made me a quilt. It’s safe to say it was love from first stitch! I loved the fact that each quilt is a tangible reflection of the time, skill, knowledge and craftsmanship required to make something so special and unique.
Because of that, there are few gifts that mean more to me than a handmade quilt. I was given another quilt when my first daughter was born, and am proud to say that she still has it to this day. When she became pregnant with her first child, I knew what I wanted to do. I bought a sewing machine, took a class, and haven’t looked back. My daughter’s kids sleep under quilts I’ve made them every night, and I’m so thankful to have that connection with her and her children.
My day job is that of a registered nurse at a local children’s hospital. Because of my unusual work hours, often times I would find myself at the sewing machine in the middle of the night. When I needed fabrics, stores would be closed. I knew I wasn’t alone in wanting an alternative.
I took a chance, and in early 2019, Becca’s Quilt Shoppe was created. I provide the highest quality fabrics, custom made quilts, and longarm services to those who need them. I’m extremely proud of my consistently high customer service reviews from my fellow quilters - your kind and gracious words inspire me on a daily basis.
Thoughts of fabrics, designs, and quilts that will bring joy to others are never far from my mind, and I hope it shows.
