My full name is Beth Brisson Kirk. I have been making things since I was 5. All the while when I was an officer ( 3.5 years a corrections officer, 25 years a court officer ) I made things, and I was working full time. To me, it is not a hobby, but a passion. My husband Larry and I did shows all through my employment. Actually, we were starting to do very well; then Covid hit. At the same time I could feel my creativity soaring; (a lot of new ideas and new designs). Nowhere to go with a bulging inventory. What was the obvious answer to this was to use the only venue but to go on the web. I do 5 or more mediums. For starters I am starting with 2 of there- hand smithed jewelry and ice tye-dye. All of my jewelry is made by me and me alone. I make all my settings ( bails and such ) by myself. Never ever do I use prefabricated pieces in my work. All of it is handmade from scratch. This also influences my work (whether it be jewelry or ice tye-dye ). All of it is limited edition or one of a kind. All my work is made by me and me alone. I make my own bails and settings and designs solely by myself. I have 3 degrees in art. Fifth-year at the School of the Museum of Fine arts in Boston Massachusetts, A traveling scholarship from the Museum ( which I used to get my B.F.A. In Southern Illinois University, ) and an M.F.A. In design at Southeastern University. Now that I can focus on one thing, making things that visually talk to people. I am having so much fun!
