The Big Picture
I have considered myself to be an artist and designer for as long as I can remember. Now that I am a stay at home mom to two young children, I find myself enjoying the most creative job there is: Motherhood.
The inspiration for the name of my blog and etsy shop, Big Picture Studio, came from something my husband first pointed out to me years ago. He once explained to me that our lives are like an impressionist painting - they don't always make sense up close, yet the artist is very intentional with each brush stroke and from a distance it's a beautiful masterpiece. He gave me that analogy during his marriage proposal back in 2000 and also presented me with a blank canvas, explaining that we were now starting a new painting together with God as the Master Artist of our lives. Fast forward to all these years later, with the many ups and downs that life brings, and I catch myself often thinking about that metaphor and how true it is. I find comfort and peace in knowing that I DON'T see the big picture, the completed work of art, but there IS One who does. So in order to help give myself perspective, I chose a name for my little art business that reminds me of a truth that I hold close.
