Bright, Bold, and Vintage
I have been collecting colorful vintage pieces ever since I found a yellow bud vase on one of many thrift store trips with my Momma. My first vintage obsession was the feed sacks of the 1930s and 40s. The more flowers on them the better. Then I went to pyrex, after that fiestaware, after that anything red! Today, I'm drawn to pieces that reflect nature, the colors you find in ripened fruit, a field of flowers or a south western sunset.
Some time ago stacks of vivid floral table linens were starting to pile up in a closet, they were to beautiful I thought not to be seen. I combined my love for anything bright bold and vintage with my adoration for bags and Big Q Little Q Handmade was created. My bags are handmade using vintage textiles as well as both hand dyed and designer fabric. One of a kind bags you won't find anywhere else that will add a pop of color to your wardrobe.
When I'm not sewing or on the hunt for vintage treasures, I'm outside gardening working on my green thumb. I love rock climbing and drinking coffee. I'm a wife to Big Q and a Mama to Little Q. We live outside of Washington DC , and enjoy taking advantage of everything that DC and the surrounding area has to offer: history, parks, museums, and delicious restaurants. On weekends you'll find us making memories in the mountains or walking our fur baby along the Potomac.
