BioThreads started with a simple idea: science deserves better shirts.

As a biology educator and lifelong science nerd, I wanted designs that people who actually know the subject would appreciate—shirts that are clever, scientifically thoughtful, and interesting enough to make someone stop and take a second look.

That's what BioThreads is about.

Our designs draw inspiration from anatomy, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, medicine, and the wonderfully strange details of life itself. Some are built around an inside joke that only an anatomy student might immediately understand. Others celebrate the beauty and complexity of biology. And some are simply for people who enjoy wearing something that makes another science person smile.

Scientific details matter here, too. If a design shows DNA base pairing, anatomy, a codon, or a biological process, I want the science behind the artwork to make sense. Because the people wearing these shirts are exactly the people who will notice.
