BIRCHMETRIC PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how BirchMetric collects, uses and shares information when you purchase a digital product, contact the shop or otherwise use BirchMetric’s services through Etsy.

This policy does not apply to the practices of Etsy or other third parties that BirchMetric does not own or control. Please review Etsy’s Privacy Policy for information about Etsy’s own data practices.

1. INFORMATION I COLLECT

To fulfil your order and provide customer support, I may receive information that you have authorised Etsy to provide, including your name, email address, order details, billing or location information made available by Etsy, and the content of messages you send through Etsy.

I do not directly receive or store your full credit card or payment account details. Payments are processed by Etsy and its payment providers.

You may voluntarily provide additional information when requesting technical assistance, such as your device type, operating system, Microsoft Excel version or a screenshot of an issue. Please do not include passwords, payment information or unrelated personal information in screenshots.

2. WHY I NEED YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW I USE IT

I rely on the following legal bases to collect, use and retain your information:

• To provide my services, fulfil your digital order and deliver customer support.
• To respond to questions, troubleshoot technical issues and resolve disputes.
• To comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.
• For legitimate business interests, such as improving my products and services, preventing fraud and complying with Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• With your consent, where consent is legally required. You may withdraw that consent at any time.

BirchMetric does not use buyer email addresses for unsolicited marketing and does not add Etsy buyers to an external mailing list without express consent.

3. INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

I share personal information only for limited reasons and in limited circumstances:

• Etsy: Information is shared with Etsy as necessary to provide my services and comply with Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
• Legal and regulatory compliance: I may retain, use or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful government requests, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or protect the rights and safety of customers and others.
• Business transfers: If BirchMetric is sold, merged or reorganised, relevant information may be disclosed as part of that transaction only where permitted by law.

I do not sell or rent customer personal information.

4. DATA RETENTION

I retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide my services, resolve disputes and comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations. Transaction and customer-support records may generally be retained for up to five years, or longer when required by applicable law.

Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymised where reasonably possible.

5. TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

BirchMetric is based in Türkiye. Information received through Etsy may therefore be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where such a transfer is necessary to fulfil an order or provide customer support, I rely on contractual necessity and other safeguards permitted by applicable data-protection law.

Etsy’s own processing and international transfer practices are governed by Etsy’s Privacy Policy.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access and receive a copy of personal information I hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate personal information.
• Request deletion or restriction of your personal information, unless retention is required by law.
• Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Submit a complaint to your local data-protection authority.

If information is held directly by Etsy, you may need to contact Etsy to exercise your rights concerning that information.
