The women in my family have a tradition of making Italian Easter Pies every year on Good Friday. My grandmother started this tradition as a young woman, then began teaching my mother, then my and my cousins how to make them. My grandmother died two months before my daughter was born, so although they never met, this precious piece of art features them together on my daughter’s first Good Friday baking day. To say this piece is meaningful is an understatement. I am giving it to my mother for her birthday next week and I’m very sure it will be a treasure to her for the rest of her life. My daughter will be able to know her great grandmother and how much she loved her as we teach her about these pies, and we will always have this gorgeous image to reflect on. Thank you so much!
