Frequently asked questions

Are the jewelry pieces made by Native American Jewelry Artists?

Jewelry pieces that are made by Native American jewelry artists are tagged with the name of the artist and the tribal affiliation.

Are ALL of the jewelry pieces on your site Native American made?

No. Some jewelry is in the Southwest Style but Not Native American. I clearly indicate on the listing if the item is Not Native American. Recently we have added pieces that are entirely leather. We also introduced our new WINDDANCER Collection of handmade jewelry set in Sterling Silver with many stone options. This collection is named in honor of our mother, Manette, who 'fancied' herself to have an Indian name...which she named HERSELF Winddancer! Full disclosure....She does not have any Native American ancestry that we can find.

Do you buy the jewelry directly from the Native American artist?

I purchase some of my inventory pieces directly from Native American artists. I also purchase NA jewelry from reputable Native American jewelry dealers who buy directly from the Native American artists in their community. All jewelry is labeled with the name of the artist, the tribal affiliation, and the retail price at the time of purchase. My listings also indicate the materials used to make the piece. Examples would be Sterling Silver and Turquoise.

How do I clean and care for my Native American pieces?

It is recommended to use a polishing cloth with a gentle touch when cleaning your pieces. A touch of mild soap on a damp cotton cloth can be used to gently wipe the piece if needed. NEVER soak the piece in water or other liquids. This can cause the stone to dislodge due to the stone-setting process used by Native American jewelry artists.

What is Your Return Process?

Items may be returned within 15 days of the delivery date of your order. If you wish to return an item, you MUST message me through the Etsy Message system in advance of returning, AND provide me with a tracking number when shipped back. The item(s) must be returned in original condition. Once I make final approval of the return, I will refund LESS my to costs for shipping and any additional insurance I purchased for orders over $250.00.

Any returns valued over $100 must be insured for the value of the return. If the return is not insured during the shipping process and does not arrive back to me, no refund will be processed.

What is the Winddancer Collection of Jewelry?

We recently introduced our new WINDDANCER Collection of handmade jewelry set in Sterling Silver with many stone options. The jewelry features Kingman Turquoise, Wild Horse, Onyx, both natural and lab-grown Opals, several Mohave options, Variscite, Pink Conch, and more. We have partnered with a group of generational artisans in India to create these beautiful and well-made pieces.

This collection is named in honor of our mother, Manette, who 'fancied' herself to have an Indian name...which she named HERSELF Winddancer! Full disclosure....She does not have any Native American ancestry that we can find.
