It started with a guide dog puppy
About the designer:
Many years ago I raised a Guide Dog puppy. I fell in love with the specialized leashes used by handlers of these incredible dogs. I still have (and use!) my original leash from 1994. Unable to find a good source for these adjustable leashes, I decided to make my own and modified it to fit my exact preference. I wanted one lead to do everything: longer length for casual walks, short for heeling, a slip collar for training, and quick tie-ups for running into the coffee shop. The 5 position Working Dog Lead was my first original design. It is still my favorite leash.
There were so many ideas about how to create the perfect leather dog leash; I kept exploring the options and finally settled on designs with the most versatility that appeal to all types of dog handlers. Bold Lead Designs was created as a vehicle to share these wonderful tools with other dog lovers who value a well-designed quality product.
I am a Colorado native. My home-based workshop is in Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Metro area). I design and make all of Bold Lead Designs products with my own hands. Admittedly, I do borrow my husband on occasion. My fabulous dog Cora (German Shepherd X Australian Cattle Dog) helps out with research and development.
