Reclaiming Our Heritage: The Hard Way, The Right Way
BolivianRustic started in 2016 as a project between a father and son with a simple realization: our country's most precious resource—our wood—was being extracted by foreign companies and government contracts, often leaving the local people with nothing.
We decided to do things differently. In Bolivia, the timber industry can be dangerous and complex; people often say moving illegal wood is riskier than moving illicit substances. But we chose the hard path. It took us years of paperwork, bureaucracy, and waiting to secure 100% legal permits, simply because we refused to cut corners.
Our Process & Mission
We operate in the Chiquitania forest, a region we are fighting to protect from reckless damage.
• Community First: We never just take. We wait for area approvals, then sit down with community leaders. We pay them fairly—and often contribute extra—to ensure the local families benefit from their own land.
• Strictly Legal: Every piece of wood we export is documented and approved. We are a small company fighting against giants, but we sleep well knowing we do it the right way.
• Quality Commitment: We recently invested in industrial drying machinery to ensure our wood is stable, durable, and ready for your home.
The Future
Our dream is to move beyond sustainable harvesting and into active plantation forestry. We are building this business not just to sell art, but to prove that Bolivian wood can be shared with the world without destroying the forests that grew it.
