About Boon Keeper Watercolors
I make all of my watercolors in small batches, and each color I offer has been tested and retested (and retested) before being finalized. This is to ensure that each individual pigment is made with the exact binder recipe and mulling process best suited to its unique needs. (Did you know that pigments truly have their own personalities?)
My paints are as highly pigmented and pure as possible, composed of only binder and as much pigment as I can pack into each pan, with absolutely no fillers of any kind. Watercolor binder is made up of gum arabic, clove oil (which acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent), and varying amounts of honey and glycerine, depending on each pigment's requirements. I have crafted my binder recipes and mulling procedures over months and months of experiments and trials.
I'm committed to keeping plastic consumption as limited as possible while still understanding that most watercolor palettes require standard-sized pans and half pans. With that in mind, the containers I use are either metal or made from recycled and compostable PLA which has been 3D printed by another small business. Because of this the pans might have slight inconsistencies in color or texture, but this won’t affect the pan’s ability to hold paint or fit into your palette.
Etsy provides lost package protection for orders $250 or below (including shipping and handling). If you would like insurance beyond that just shoot me a message before making your purchase and I’ll find the best rate and create a custom listing for the insurance amount for you to add to your order.
If your purchase is over $250 (first of all, OMG thank you!), or you are placing an order from a country outside of the US, insurance is highly recommended. We’ve all seen what Covid did to the shipping industry. Bananas. Again, just shoot me a message and we will work together to get you set up with the best rate.
