Plush toys for everyone.
Después de concentrarme en el diseño de juguetes en el Massachusetts College of Art and Design en Boston, MA, me di cuenta de que cualquiera que fuera mi carrera, quería hacer juguetes.
Durante el verano entre mi tercer y último año de universidad, decidí enseñarme a mí mismo a hacer ganchillo. Mi madre había sido una quilter profesional durante muchos años, así que a medida que crecía, aprendí lo básico (y eventualmente métodos más avanzados) cuando se trataba de coser y tejer. Los juguetes de ganchillo Amigurumi parecían una salida creativa perfecta.
Comencé aprendiendo de los videos de YouTube, y luego compré algunos libros de patrones para dominar las técnicas más difíciles. Para Navidad, estaba haciendo osos personalizados para mi familia y amigos.
Avanzando rápidamente hasta ahora, soy un diseñador de UX / producto a tiempo completo durante el día y en mi tiempo libre, trabajando en nuevas líneas de peluches para mi marca: Treefort Five.
Ha sido un gran viaje ver cuán extendido parece ser el atractivo: desde los más pequeños hasta los "mayores", todos todavía parecen chillar sobre los juguetes de peluche. Me hace tan feliz ver la cara de alguien iluminarse cuando abre la bolsa y especialmente feliz cuando escucho que un peluche se ha convertido en un juguete favorito antes de acostarse para acurrucarse.

After concentrating on Toy Design at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA, I realized that whatever my career might be, I wanted to make toys.
During the summer between my Junior and Senior year of college, I decided to teach myself how to crochet. My mother had been a professional quilter for many years, so as I grew up, I learned the basics (and eventually more advanced methods) when it came to sewing and knitting. Amigurumi crocheted toys looked like a perfect creative outlet.
I started off learning from YouTube videos, and later purchased a few books of patterns to master the tougher techniques. By Christmas, I was making custom bears for my family and friends.
Fast forward to now, I'm a full-time UX/Product Designer by day and in my spare time, working on new lines of plushies for my brand: Treefort Five.
It's been a great ride to see how widespread the appeal seems to be - from the little ones, to "older" ones, everyone still seems to squeal over plush toys. It makes me so happy to see someone's face light up when they open up the bag and especially happy when I hear that a plushie has become a favorite bedtime toy to snuggle up with.
So onwards we go! I'm always working on new projects and additions to my shops, so stay tuned!
