Garden Potter
I’ve been involved with clay for as long as I can remember. My mother was a jewelry artist and an oil painter. During the summer she had access to clay, a wheel and a kiln at a wonderful rustic summer school of art in Michigan. So, to keep me out of trouble she got me started in my lifelong passion - ceramics.
I worked on and off with clay through school and then while raising my family. When my youngest started school, the time was ripe! I went back to the same art summer school that I started with decades before. That was over 25 years ago.
It took me a long time to find my voice in ceramics. I made bowls, mugs and vases that didn’t have any spark for me and looked like many other potters. After I became a Master Gardener and working as a garden designer, I noticed how many people live in the green room behind their houses - their backyards. I thought why not bring a sense of the outdoors into my pottery.
Botanic2Ceramic was born.
In my Etsy store you will find beautiful original pottery for your home and your garden all made of the highest quality of porcelain or white stoneware. Garden and nature has been a huge part of my life and I bring that influence into my ceramics. My handmade pottery is one-of-a-kind since each piece is made individually, one at a time.
My ceramics are meant to be used, loved and become a cherished part of your daily life.
I feel incredibly fortunate that I found ceramics (or it found me!). I love doing what I do and I hope it shows.
Best Regards,
Sue Capillo
