Bound to be Creative was born with handmade hands.
From self-taught book binder to bound to be creative with sewing.
My very first love is hats. My hats express personality offering an in-depth vision into a style that you create with any outfit. I like to keep my hats simple and to the point and of course...reversible. Not a lot of bells and whistles to my hats, simple, cost effective and quality made hats.
A vision from a combination of the people that surround me and the unstoppable dreams has helped me to expand my shop into purses, HIP Mini's and hats for kids. From a dream, to a sketch, to transferring to my computer, I print my pattern and then ever-so-excitedly cut and sew the pattern until it comes into it's own beautiful, colorful work of art. The creative process continues with photographing my product and then giving that product life, in words, for the world to read.
I fondly remember browsing the fabric store with my mother, choosing the perfect color and texture and then watching earnestly, listening to the scissors cut the fabric, dreaming of the outfit that my mother was about to create for me. My creative process entails much of that same deliberate vision of dreaming of my next project. To this day going to the fabric store I'm like a kid in a candy store.
If I'm not creating for my shop I am wearing all the different hats that any mother wears....sometimes all at the same time! Five children keep me on my toes from dentist appointments, to cross-country meets, to helping out at the book fair, to kissing bruised knees and broken hearts. I try not to sweat the small stuff, give hugs and kisses to them whenever I can, and thank God for entrusting my husband and I with such a journey of raising His children.
I love Friday night movie nights with my family and the occasional Sunday skiing. You'll also find me every Saturday and Sunday morning having a coffee visit with my husband.
Thank you for visiting.
Sincerely,
Shelly
