5 out of 5 starsThis is the third mask I've purchased. Both my husband and daughter have masks as well. I like the colorful fabrics and the ability to attach two ways. Delivery was fast and easy. I also like the filter pocket. Thanks!

5 out of 5 starsI received this bag today (in record time of two days from order placement). I am blown away. As a very seasoned quilter and one who has been sewing since I was seven years old, I can honestly say that the construction of this bag is absolutely flawless. The stitching is perfect. The design is thoughtful and practical. The quality of the fabrics is superb. This bag will be a gift I am proud to give.

5 out of 5 starsThis is one of my favorite masks. I love the fact that it ties behind your head versus over the ears. I wear hearing devices and this is the perfect style because it does not interfere with my hearing device. Thank you!

I’m Julie Seitel. I’m passionate about helping my community thrive in the face of our current huge challenge: COVID.
This nasty little virus black-swanned my theatrical lighting design company into utter superfluousness, because no one needs stage lighting right now.
You know what we do need right now?
Face masks.
Yeah. Face masks.
You know what else we need right now?
Work!
Yeah. Paying gigs for all of us in the arts and other fields whose incomes have suffered because of COVID.
The mission of Bozeman Batiks is threefold:
*To make face masks available to all residents of Bozeman, Montana and the surrounding communities, regardless of ability to pay. Bozeman Batiks makes regular financial and materials contributions to the 501(c)3 charity Montana Masks for Heroes to further this goal.
*To normalize, de-stigmatize, and popularize the use of face masks and educate the public about face masks’ ability to greatly reduce virus spread by asymptomatic carriers.
*To provide a flexible new income source to Bozeman area residents with sewing skills whose incomes have been decimated by the coronavirus.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders
I am happy to customize a face mask to suit your aesthetic preferences. Please leave me detailed notes with your order and I'll do my best to comply working with the materials I have in stock at the time. Turnaround time will be somewhat longer for custom-built items.
Sizing details
Adult masks are approximately 8" wide and 3.75" tall before expanding pleats. With pleats fully expanded the coverage from top of mask at noseband to bottom of mask under chin is about 7". Child-size masks are approximately 7" wide by 3" tall, with pleats expanding to 6" tall.
Masks are supplied with a single long piece of elastic left untied. The wearer will need to customize the loop lengths to fit their head size and suit their preferred tightness.
Please note that my masks are all individually handmade, and minor size variations do sometimes occur.
Care instructions
Masks should be washed regularly with soap and water. They can be machine-washed and machine-dried with your regular laundry, although please note that the nose wires will crumple and the fabric will wrinkle in the dryer so they will need to be ironed or otherwise flattened back out after machine-drying. I recommend using a zippered mesh "delicates" bag to protect the elastic if washing masks with your other laundry. As with any garment, your masks will last longer if you hand-wash them and hang them up or lie flat to dry.
What if I am not satisfied with my mask?
Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. Due to the nature of the product I cannot accept returns. However, if your mask is not what you expected or doesn't work well for you, please convo me to discuss a refund or replacement. I'll get you a mask that you love, or gladly refund your money.
