Some things about my style....

I am not a bargain rug braider - I do use the highest quality colorful wool I can find and dense high quality wool can be upwards of $26/yard for me to provide the best rugs you can buy.

I am committed to producing heirloom quality braided rugs that will last for decades.

Feeling the wool bend to the touch to create these lovely rugs is oh-so soul satisfying! I enjoy chatting about new projects and love the exchange of ideas that comes with the delight of commission work. Matching enthusiasm makes such pretty rugs! I do not plait, but actually braid the rug - so each side edge of the braid is plump and round with each strand 6 layers thick and not flat and wide like a plaited braid. It's my feeling that the braid is more durable this way and I really like the look!

Wool is my preferred medium because it's durable and soil resistant and very worthy of many years of beautiful use with occasional spot cleaning. Wool costs more, but the durability far outlasts cotton-based rugs and the cushiony loft of wool is like a surprise massage for your feet! I make great use of new and recycled wool - finding the older vintage wool adds a unique flair to the rugs!

It takes a yard of wool to make a square foot of braided rug. Therefore, if you're interested in having me make a large wool rug for you, I could invoice you through Pay Pal installments while I'm creating your dream rug, sort of a layaway option if you're interested. I will send you photo updates and ask for your input as we go along to make sure our visions of your finished product are the same.

CUSTOMIZED ORDERS:
Because these are works of art that take me at least 3 hours per square foot to make, I cannot offer refunds on commissioned work, therefore it's vital to me that you're pleased as the rug grows. If you are in need of an area rug, I will start your project with a good faith deposit.

After I send you the first set of photos of the rug's first 10 rows or so, I will ask you if you like and if we should continue. If you say "no" - then I'll refund your deposit at that point and we'll end the project. If you tell me to continue, we'll proceed with knowing that I cannot offer a refund of your deposit from that point forward. At that point, I'll invoice for half of the remaining balance and then when the project is finished, I'll create a custom listing for the balance due and ship to you the very next business day.

PLEASE NOTE:

Ordering a custom rug from my shop means that you can choose colors that you enjoy, the shape and size and have general input as to how the colors appear in the rug. I have enough examples of my work on this site to help you decide if I'm the right rug-maker for you. I will not copy another rug you've found on the internet, I don't feel it's ethical to copy someone else's work. I will not remove a color after it's braided in, nor will I start over on any rug if you don't like it.

I cut/braid/lace all by hand and it takes me about 3-5 hours per square foot of braided rug - so your handmade beauty will be one of a kind and oh so much sweeter to walk on than factory made yarn-braided rugs that wear out in just a few years.
