Story of Brothers Forge
In the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal, there existed a small but vibrant marketplace where the aromas of spices, the vibrant colors of traditional textiles, and the echoes of ancient traditions filled the air. Nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of this marketplace was a quaint little shop called "Brothers Forge."
The shop was owned by a skilled and humble artisan named Chandra Bahadur who was my father. Descended from a long line of Khukuri makers, my father had inherited a deep appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship that went into creating these iconic blades. Determined to honor his family's legacy, he opened his shop to share the beauty and cultural significance of Khukuri with the world.
Our shop was a treasure trove of Khukuris, displayed with pride on polished wooden shelves. Each blade possessed a unique story, passed down through generations, and meticulously crafted by the skilled hands of Nepali artisans. From the traditional and robust Bhojpure Khukuris to the elegant and ornate Sirupate Khukuris, there was a blade for every discerning customer.
As word of the Brothers Forge spread, enthusiasts and collectors from across the globe traveled to Nepal to seek it out. And me and my father have dreamed of reaching an even wider audience, and we knew just the platform to make it possible—Etsy.
With a determined spirit, we brought the essence of our shop to the online world. I carefully photographed each Khukuri, capturing the intricate details and the soul within. He poured his heart into each description, sharing the history, symbolism, and significance of the blades. Then, with a click of a button, Brothers Forge was born on Etsy.
To ensure the highest quality, my father personally oversaw the forging process. We collaborated closely with his fellow artisans, handpicking the finest carbon steel and forging each blade with traditional techniques. The blades were then carefully honed and polished, creating a razor-sharp edge that would withstand the test of time.
We took great care in packaging and shipping every order. As well as I am very happy to start forging Sword also.
