Discovering the Artist, Nurturing the Business.

I started Brown Paper Moon Designs after years of doing the graphics for my own small business. Working with others to help them create their dream wedding invitations or personalized artwork is a world apart from the dry work of grinding out ads and updating websites, and I've discovered a creative side to my work that I didn't know I had. In helping others express their visions, I'm uncovering my own!

*Instant Downloads*

- After purchasing you will be shown a link that will take you to your downloads page, where you will be able to download your purchases. If you've paid with Direct Checkout or Paypal it can take a few minutes for your payment to be confirmed.

- You will also receive an email to let you know that your file is ready to download. Clicking the "View your Files on Etsy" link in the email will take you to your downloads page.

- You can also access your "Downloads" page by going to the top right-hand corner of any Etsy page and clicking on the link for "You," then selecting "Purchases and reviews" from the pull-down menu. To the right of your order click "Download Files." This will take you to the "Downloads" page for the files attached to your order.


*Premium or Custom Digital Files*

You will receive a low-resolution proof within 2-3 business days of your order and my receipt of all pertinent information.

The proofing process can take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks, depending on the number of revisions needed. I can usually make changes within 24 hours (weekdays), depending on how busy the shop is.

Upon your approval of the proof, you'll receive the final, high-resolution, print-ready PDF file within 1 business day.
Refunds and Exchanges
Sometimes things come up and cancellations must be made. Please contact me as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your order.

* Canceling an Instant Download *

- I'm happy to refund if the file(s) haven't been downloaded. Due to the nature of instant downloads, I'm unable to offer refunds on purchases once they have been downloaded.


* Canceling a Premium or Custom Listing *

- I can fully refund your purchase if cancellation is requested before work on your design has begun.

- Once work has begun and/or a working proof has been sent there is a 35% cancellation fee. Any Add-on features purchased are not refundable.

- I'm unable to cancel your order or offer a refund once you've approved the final proof.

- I do what I can to catch spelling errors or other mistakes, including my own, but ultimately the responsibility for final approval is yours.

- After delivery of the Final Files, I can make changes if needed for up to 10 days with the purchase of an Add-on. After 10 days your files will be deleted to make space, and I won't be able to make any further edits. Any changes needed after 10 days will require a repurchase and recreation of the order.


Please note that colors vary from monitor to monitor, so it is impossible for me to guarantee the exact color you see on your screen. Phone screens can be particularly problematic when it comes to color and small details. Before final approval, I recommend printing out a proof in the same way you'll be printing your finished cards.
Additional policies and FAQs

Q: What programs do I need to edit the text-editable files?

A: You can use Microsoft Word (2011 or later) to edit the text-editable docx files listed in my shop. Word 2016 can cause issues with some of the typefaces used in the text-editable docx examples.
A link for a free download of Adobe Reader is provided in the instructions along with the text-editable PDF files.


Q: Where can I have the text-editable files printed?

A: My designs are compatible with most online and local paper print shops, with a few exceptions:
- and are not able to process text-editable PDF files. They can accept text-editable docx files saved as PDFs.
- (All virtually the same company) do not recognize some of the typefaces used in the text-editable PDF examples (Scriptina Pro and Doris Day), but do allow many other fonts. This is not an issue with the text-editable docx files when saved as PDFs.
- has a limited number of fonts, unique to them, that they use for printing invitations. You can edit the text and fonts on their website.
- Large chain printers are often unable to print on envelopes due to their use of heat during the printing process. Small local printers and home printers don't usually have this issue.
- Photo printers (Costco, Walgreens, etc.) only accept jpgs, and do not allow PDF files.

If you want to use one of these print companies with one of my text-editable designs you can purchase Edit My Editable Design Add-ons for each card ( I'll edit the design for you and send you a flattened PDF file that can be used with any print shop.


Q: What kind of paper should I print my digital designs on?

A: Generally, invitations look best on heavier weight card stock - I use 100# (minimum) matte white card stock (cover weight), which I found at my local paper supply store.
Some home printers can only handle up to 80#, so you might want to do a test run with some different weights/textures to see how it goes before purchasing the full amount.
The other items in the shop (reception/party items) work great with 80# white card stocks.
The labels have been designed to be printed on full page sticker paper and trimmed to size.
Some of the cards/labels have been designed to work with Avery or Paper Source products. The specific products are mentioned in the listing title and description when that is the case.


Q: Can I print these designs on black/purple/red/etc. paper?

A: All of my designs are made to be printed on white or light colored card stock. Printing on black paper will result in an entirely black card :(


Q: What size envelopes should I use?

A: All of the invitations and RSVPs in my shop are standard US sizes:
- RSVP (3.5" x 5") - 4 bar envelope
- Save the Date (4.25" x 5.5") - A2 envelope
- Save the Date (4" x 6") - A6 envelope
- Invitation (5" x 7") - A7 envelope
Envelopes can easily be found at paper supply shops or online, in a rainbow of colors.


Q: I want to order everything! Do you offer discounts for multiple custom designs?

A: I really wish that I could, but discounts for bulk orders really only make sense if I'm doing assembly line work. Each of my designs must be edited and adapted by hand. As a result, I'm only able to offer discounts for multiple color or font changes.


Q: My event is next year, so I'll be ordering in about 6 months. Can I get a custom quote now?

A: Of course! Just be aware that my quotes are only valid for 30 days.

Brown Paper Moon's designs may be used for personal printed products. They may not be sold or distributed for free in their original format. You may not claim them as your own designs. Credit isn't required, but it is nice.
Brown Paper Moon Designs will not be held responsible for printing or other end user errors.
