How do you preserve the leaves?
I collect the leaves when they’ve already fallen from the tree but they haven’t gotten all dried and crunchy yet. I press them in a book and dry them 2-3 weeks, and then I seal them with acrylic medium and then clear gesso before I paint them. After the paint, I seal them with acrylic medium again. I also frame them after that, to keep them safe!
What materials do you use?
I use acrylic mediums! I use acrylic medium to seal the leaf, clear gesso, acrylic paint, and then acrylic medium again to seal the paint!
Where do you get the leaves?
I collect all of the leaves while on walks or hikes! All of the leaves are ethically sourced, meaning they've already fallen from the trees before I collected them. Fall is the best time to stock up on inventory!
