Oi, eu sou Denise. Desde que me lembro, tenho feito coisas. Quando eu tinha 5 anos, arndoi uma "loja" na minha sala. Deslizei meus desenhos de lápis debaixo do vidro das nossas mesas e forcei meus irmãos e irmãs a comprar meus cartões de boas-vindas. Acho que essa é uma vantagem de ser o bebê da família, eles me divertiram. E como a maioria dos meus irmãos eram adolescentes, com algum dinheiro gasto, eles os compraram! Assim começou minha carreira empreendedora.

Bucktown Studio é uma ótima saída para todas as minhas atividades. Adoro costurar, pintar, desenhar, fazer joias e origami. Eu amo especialmente fazer coisas que as pessoas realmente vão usar. Sou nova da Etsy, mas faço isso há um bom tempo, vendendo meus produtos em uma cooperativa de artesãos locais e em feiras de arte.

O que há com o bode? Bucktown é um bairro de Chicago. É uma comunidade divertida e vibrante com bela arquitetura, lojas de funk, restaurantes fabulosos, ótima vida noturna e uma rede de artes de apoio. Bucktown é onde eu moro e trabalho. Há 150 anos, Bucktown era a área de Chicago onde as pessoas criavam cabras, assim o nome. Então, a cabra se tornou o emblema do bairro de Bucktown.

Estou dirigindo bucktown studio com a ajuda do meu maravilhoso marido, George. George é um "Cara de TI". O que é incrivelmente útil, já que eu, com certeza, não sou! George afirma que ele não é criativo, o que eu não acredito. O pai dele era um artista de aquarela incrivelmente talentoso. Então, enquanto George pode não gastar seu tempo pintando e costurando, há definitivamente uma sensibilidade artística em seu sangue: Ele me entende!

Há cerca de um mês, iniciei meu primeiro projeto Etsy: Bagmaker Supply. Além de fazer as coisas, também adoro sourcing e aquisição de hardware e acessórios de bolsa brilhantes. Hi, I'm Denise. For as long as I can remember I've been making things. When I was about 5-years-old I set up a "store" in my living room. I slid my crayon drawings under the glass of our end tables and forced my brothers and sisters to buy my greeting cards. I guess that's one advantage of being the baby of the family, they humored me. And since most of my siblings were teenagers, with some spending money, they bought them! Thus began my entrepreneurial career.

Bucktown Studio is a great outlet for all of my pursuits. I love sewing, painting, drawing, jewelry making, and origami. I especially love making things that people will actually use. I'm brand-new to Etsy, but I've been doing this for quite a while, selling my wares at a local artisan co-op and at art fairs.

What's with the goat? Bucktown is a neighborhood in Chicago. It's a fun, vibrant community with beautiful architecture, funky shops, fabulous restaurants, great nightlife, and a supportive arts network. Bucktown is where I live and work. A hundred and fifty years ago Bucktown was the area of Chicago where people raised goats, thus the name. So, the goat has become the emblem of the Bucktown neighborhood.

I'm running Bucktown Studio with the help of my wonderful husband, George. George is an "IT Guy." Which is incredibly helpful since I, most assuredly, am NOT! George claims that he's not creative, which I don't believe. His dad was amazingly talented watercolor artist. So, while George may not spend his time painting and sewing, there's definitely an artistic sensibility in his blood: He gets me!
