I’m so impressed with my purchase! Jennifer was amazing! I was able to select my colors and even the size on the needles! I reached out to her about doing some custom work using my grandmother’s needles. She let me know there would be a delay in shipping which was great and then included a postcard with a really nice note. I will be ordering more as gifts!

One of a kind jewelry & accessories made by recycling knitting needles and crochet hooks

I learned to knit from my mother as a child, and while I went on to work in public education for more than 25 years, as an environmental educator, I was knitting up projects (especially hats!) all along.
By repurposing aluminum knit & crochet tools, starting in 2010, I feel like it honors the history of fiber arts while encouraging wise use of our natural resources- both passions of mine! In utilizing these treasures, I'm creating jewelry, and accessories, that are not only visually captivating but also imbued with a sense of nostalgia and character.
When you choose a Bur Oak Studio piece, you're not just acquiring jewelry or an accessory. You're embracing a story—one of craftsmanship, heritage, and sustainability. These designs seamlessly blend the charm of the past with contemporary aesthetics, allowing my customers to express their unique style while making an eco-conscious choices.
I am a resident artist at Gallery on the Square in Danville, Indiana- the town where me and my family are caretakers on a 200 acre natural area. Shows and classes have taken me from the county fair sheep barns to Vogue Knitting and from coast to coast. Classes and custom work are both available! I've been knitting since childhood and began repurposing the old needles & hooks into colorful and fun items in 2010! My favorite projects are the custom ones, turning the tools of crafters who have passed into functional memories!
