Busy Witch Box creates handcrafted witchcraft ritual boxes, magickal tools & complete ritual experiences for witches practicing the craft.
I created Busy Witch Box because I knew what it meant to be a practicing witch with a very full life. For years, I balanced my own Craft alongside a career, family & all the ordinary demands that exist beyond the altar. I also knew I couldn't possibly be the only witch doing it.
The answer was never to make witchcraft simpler. It was to make the time we give to our practice count.
That idea became Busy Witch Box.
I wanted to create the kind of witchcraft offerings I would want to receive myself, complete rituals with the ritual already written, the correspondences considered, the preparations crafted & the tools gathered, while leaving enough space for the individual witch to bring their own practice to the altar.
What began with ritual boxes for the eight Sabbats has grown to include Full Moon & New Moon workings, spellcraft, goddess offerings, handcrafted anointing oils, loose incense blends, ritual preparations, divination pieces, altar tools & other magickal goods created for working witchcraft.
Much of what you find here begins at my own worktable.
I formulate the anointing oils & loose incense blends. I write the rituals, invocations & spellwork. Herbs and botanicals are chosen for their magickal properties and traditional correspondences. Stones, candles, colors, symbols & altar tools are considered for the role they will play within the working.
When I create a ritual box, I don't begin by asking what will fill it.
I begin by asking what the magick requires.
From there, the working takes shape.
That distinction is important to me. A beautiful object may find its way onto an altar, but a ritual tool should have work to do once it gets there. Everything within a Busy Witch Box is intended to participate in the magick.
My own Craft is rooted in correspondence, spellcraft, ritual practice, observation & the natural rhythms moving around us. Over years of returning to the same moons and Sabbats, I came to understand something that now sits at the foundation of Busy Witch Box: the Craft is not layered over nature. It is practiced within nature's rhythms.
The seasons themselves are among the oldest correspondences available to the witch.
Before we ever open a book of correspondences, the world around us is already demonstrating expansion & contraction, seed & harvest, light and dark, growth, decay & return. The witch learns to recognize what is already moving and chooses how to work within it.
That is what I mean when I say practice in season.
It is why the eight Sabbats remain at the heart of Busy Witch Box: Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh, Mabon, Samhain & Yule. Around them move lunar cycles, planetary influences, spellwork, divination & the countless individual workings that become part of a witch's practice.
But Busy Witch Box has never been about telling another witch exactly how to practice.
My work is to create the framework, write the ritual, formulate the preparations, gather the tools & consider how each piece participates in the working.
Then it reaches your altar.
What happens there belongs to your Craft.
