Making Hats and Selling Buttons!!
Our journey to Etsy selling started when my then 8 year old daughter crocheted a hat and wore it to our home school co-op. A local photographer commented to my wife about the hat and mentioned that we could open a business selling the hats on a site called Etsy and market the hats to newborn photographers. Jean researched the site and opened her shop, Sebasitanseven (in honor of our seven children) later that year. Almost 4000 sales later, we are a true Etsy success! One of the most difficult tasks we had as we built Sebastianseven, was finding a regular supplier of the thousands of buttons we used during the year. Constant trips to Walmart, JoAnns, Hobby Lobby, etc. were tiring and took too much time away from the things that we wanted to do as well as making hats. After much searching, we have located some great buttons that we use when Jean makes the hats. Of course, buying in bulk means cheaper buttons, so we buy in large quantities. We want to make it easier for all of you crafters and artisans to find all of the different buttons you need for your projects. If you let us know a specific need for buttons, I will find it for you and get it to you as quick as I can.
Thanks for reading our story and keep on making those great projects!
