I will continue to sell antiques and collectibles but I am also adding my original paintings very soon.
After attending art school many years ago, life took on different paths and my brushes sat idle for decades, other than to paint and restore old furniture items.
Now in my 'Grandma Moses' chapter of life, I have finally returned to the canvas with a lifetime of inspiration. Painting represents a joyful homecoming to my classical training, blended with a deep, mature appreciation for the quiet beauty of nature. Every brushstroke is infused with patience, history and the pure joy of creating art once again.
I also enjoy painting impressionistic, abstract and a folk art style.
In regard to antiques, I've always loved 'old stuff'. I had a fear that we would never see them again if we didn't save them. I realized pretty soon that I couldn't buy everything, so I narrowed my collection to antique banks and tin toys.
We stopped at every antique shop in every town we traveled to. It got out of hand so I decided to sell antiques and collectibles and have been 'at it' for over 30 years.
I love to research, I love working with people, I love objects from the past, I love history and I even love working on the computer. I also sell at shows, but the internet brings in such a wide range of people from so many different places.
It's just fun to place and object with a person....it's making that match and finding a home for the things you love.
