How Charmed by the Sea Started
I have always been a lover of the beach and all things beach related. In late 2015 we decided to relocate from VT to FL. While packing, I went through my huge collection of shells (I've been traveling back and forth from Vermont to Florida since I was 8 years old). I was overwhelmed with how many I had and I knew we’d be collecting many more once we moved. That got me thinking as to how I can turn these beautiful shells into something other than a dust collector in a pretty bowl. After doing some late night research, I went out on New Year's Eve, bought supplies and that night made my first resin shell pendants. I'm so very excited to share these beautiful necklaces with you and hope that you will be as charmed by them as I am!
Every single shell, piece of coral or shark's tooth, was hand selected by either myself or one of my two children (ages 11 & 14). All our chains and charms are lead and nickle free.
My daughter started her business Art by the Ocean at the age of 8 and started out by sellling paintings. Now at the age of 14, she has published three childrens books that she's written and illustrated. She has a line of greeting cards and we are coming out with a line of crochet animals to go with her books!
