Fresh Modern Stationery
Hi! I’m Christa, thanks for taking the time to check out my etsy shop!
I am an illustrator and I create and sell fresh modern paper goods including greeting cards, stationery, and home decor.
I was inspired to start creating stationery and paper decor by the simple and whimsical packaging and signage of the 1950s and 1960s. I am a bit of a thrift store junky which is a huge part of my inspiration when it comes to illustrations. I am also hugely inspired by both the beauty in nature and the architecture of Buffalo, NY, this gorgeous city I call my home.
I work out of my home, and I would like to say I contain it all to my home studio, but that just wouldn’t be true. I draw and brainstorm new cards wherever I am feeling inspired. And my supplies, are pretty much stored in half the rooms in the house. My hubby very kindly puts up with boxes of paper and envelopes everywhere. But I am lucky I get to work from here, spend time with my son, and kitties during the day when most people have go to an office!
Being a socially conscious entrepreneur is extremely important to me. All of the card stock and envelopes I use in my products is made in the United States to ensure that those who are manufacturing them are paid fair wages. The paper we produce our cards on is 100% recycled from post consumer waste. Home decor and accessories are sewn locally by another etsy seller. All of my flat pieces are shipped in compostable sleeves made from plants to reduce waste and depend on plastics.
Working as an artist for 9 years inspired me to start an artisan collective, ShopCraft. We are all out there trying to figure this thing out, and to have a group for support has been amazing.
