Adventures in Nature Photography
Hello all! Thank you for visiting my Etsy digital photography store.
I'm a beginner photographer who first fell in love with nature photography in '21, when I discovered that my smartphone (a Motorola moto g stylus) could take some excellent pictures, sometimes on par with classic DSLR cameras! When I took it with me on my first solo visit to Highbanks Metro Park, a beautiful forest park near where I live, my passion for nature photography was solidified, especially during the autumn season.
Nowadays, I use a Samsung S23 smartphone and a Canon Rebel T3i DSLR camera. They both excel in different ways! My S23 does a wonderful job with landscapes and macro shots, especially if I'm using spot metering (a focus setting that highlights contrast in shots, like streaks of light). My T3i, with its zoom lens, has helped me take very lucky wildlife shots, with the birds in my neighborhood being my most recurring subjects.
As a result of my many photography adventures throughout my neighborhood, I've bonded with many songbirds here. More than any, I've secured friendship with a spunky male song sparrow whom I've named "Sam" in honor of Samwise Gamgee from "The Lord of the Rings". We know each other so well that when he hears me walking, Sam will perch on the cables over our backyard and start singing. Perhaps he's singing for me!
