Engineering Beautiful Cakes
I was twelve years old when I saw an ad for a cake decorating class at Davis Adult School. I only had to convince Mom to sign up so that I could tag along! I was inspired from day one to design beautiful cakes. I love the artistic part of making cakes. I have a passion for design, fashion, and art. Cake has given me a unique media where I can put it all together.
I graduated from the University of California Davis with a degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. I worked in management for over 10 years until about 2012 when I had my second little girl. This was when I decided I wanted to be home with them.
Looking for income opportunities, I was driven to create Cake Couture, becoming the first person in Yolo County to obtain a Cottage Foods license - a permit that allows me to sell baked goods to the public from home. Developing this design-oriented business has allowed me to be grow creatively - and be there for my little ones.
In addition I am extremely grateful for the Etsy handmade seller's platform which has given me another opportunity to help my family by providing products that people want.. all over the world!:)
My future goals include completing my MBA at UC Davis and I look forward to bringing my experience and creativity into my company and its products.
