Calming Sense creates weighted items with therapeutic value for children and adults with stress, ADHD, autism, anxiety, sensory integration disorders and sleep problems. Our mission is to create items that are attractive and that appear typical. The items give children and adults a tool to self –sooth, reduce stress, and promote focus.

We also carry a few items that are handcrafted and some kits if you would like to try crafting yourself.

Most items can be shipped within the US with included free shipping. International shipping is an additional charge.

Comfort Critters - 2 pounds of comforting weight that lie right on acupressure points in your neck. Critters come with organic felt tabs for adding essential oils and new this year - a sample of essential oil to try!

Seek and Find – these weighted lap pads also provide quiet entertainment with the benefits of a weighted lap pad. Car rides, waiting rooms, anyplace where your child has to self entertain. As an added bonus – the pieces don’t come out so there is no clean up!

Comfort Critters – Critters lay across acupressure stress points on the neck and shoulders and provide calming weight – perfect for settling down and reading or watching TV. Critters may be created with sensory tabs or aromatherapy tabs so that essential oils can be added for additional benefit. T

Weighted Blankets – blankets are a perfect night-time or naptime tool to calm and relax. They have helped adults with night terrors and anxiety. Children with ADHD have had success sleeping more soundly and longer under these blankets.

Weighted Vests – Using a typical vest, adults and children can “wear” their weights and have them as often as needed, not just while sitting or lying down! They have been shown to help children and adults, self calm and therefore be more able to process sensory input.

Fidgets – ¼ pound fidgets can add just a little weight to any garment with pockets. The squishy feel and the sensory ribbons provide sensory input. Fidgets are also available with aromatherapy tabs so that essential oils can be added for additional benefit.
