Hello Everyone!!!
Changing things up a bit and trying my hands at making adult sized lap blankets and putting patterns into the store. I'm also a senior in college so time is limited when it comes to my favorite pastime!
I've noticed a slight uptick with stuck digital patterns, though a very low amount get stuck when the servers at Etsy have a hiccup, it does occasionally happen. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU: just send me a convo through Etsy and I'll email it to you. I promise that I'll respond as quickly as I can... most of the time it's within minutes of the purchase. I do have several overseas customers so if it's night in the States, I'm probably sleeping so I will send it off as soon as I open my eyes and see the notification. But if awake, I'll send it right away.
The next two patterns in the works are a bit different than my normal fair. I have a heavily cabled, worsted weight baby blanket in the works (my best friend's first grandson!) and THE BEAST!
The Beast is a stunning, heavy, 1 inch thick adult chair blanket that is knit in the herringbone stitch with size 17 needles and extra chunk Lion Brand Wool Ease... it is so soft and warm!! Sadly, as of right now, it's only 2 feet long, but I'm working on it!
I hope 2022 is being better to you than the two previous years... it's a wonderful time to stay home and knit!
Love to you all that have supported me, I couldn't have dreamed that I would have any success at selling knitting patterns!!! Especially my repeat customers!!! Thank you!!!
HAPPY KNITTING!!!!
Dixie

5 out of 5 starsGreat beginner-intermediate knitting pattern. I am not a new knitter buy definitely not VERY GOOD ONE. I was able to make a great baby blanket using this pattern. I also had a question about how to adapt for sizing, and the owner emailed me back very quickly, and answered my concern.

5 out of 5 starsPattern is really pretty. I have changed it a bit as I wanted a multiple color blanket. I made it a striped blanket, and everyone loves it. I will be making this one again.

Cape Cod Stitchery...if it can be made out of yarn, you can find something here!
I've had an account with Etsy since 2011 but I didn't start selling until October of 2015.
Considering that I don't have children, it's quite ironic that I design baby blankets. I've been a knitter since I was a child but I've become fairly good at it. I started making baby blankets, for co-workers, about 5 years ago (I've given away about 110 so far), but due to the fact that I've never created anything from a pattern, I knitted, or crocheted, blankets that I thought looked nice. One of those co-workers, a highly professional and amazing lady, had just given birth to her second son. When I gave her the baby blanket, which was an incredibly beautiful (but simple) to make, so proclaimed that she could never do that herself. I made her a bet that I could draw up a pattern, teach her some basic knitting techniques, and she could do it. Within a month, she made a blanket of her own. She came back and said that I should make patterns and sell them because I had made a pattern so simple that even she could do it. Since I basically do a form of graphics design professionally, it sounded like a valid option. That's when I stumbled on the feature on Etsy for selling digital downloads...*light bulb*! After extensive research, along with trial and error, I created a marketable and professional pattern that I wouldn't be embarrassed to sell.
The name "Cape Cod Stitchery" wasn't as hard to come up with; "Cape Cod" is because I live on Cape Cod and "Stitchery" is because I thought it sounded "New England-y"...thus Cape Cod Stitchery was born!
I've had relative success at it, and have gotten high praise for the patterns I produce. I keep doing it because I love to knit and I'm still astonished that I'm able to make money at it. Isn't the internet awesome? Thank you, Etsy!

Owner, Designer
Hello! I'm a baby blanket designer originally but I'm branching out into different ways to put yarn together in a creative way such as scarves, cowels, and whatever else I dream up. I'm also experimenting with different crochet techniques!!!
