Carabangles: The Etsy Shop of Cara Marcus
The Carabangles Etsy Shop opened in 2016, but Carabangles was around since the 1980s, when Cara Marcus was a graphic design student at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI. And ideas for unique, multimedia creations percolated long before that, as Cara started drawing as soon as she could hold a crayon, and then began collecting the shells, beads, specialty papers, etc., that she would combine in original ways for collages, jewelry, sculptures and more.
Cara's sold her work at various craft fairs and art exhibits, and won "Best in Show" at the Watertown Art Association's 2014 Annual Exhibit for her sculpture "Endocrinology en Brie", and first place the following year for "Radiology Unbound". Carabangles earrings are sold at Just Next Door Cards & Gifts, 327 Auburn St., Newton, MA.
A professional librarian and archivist, Cara has also combined her two passions of library science and art, designing annual meeting logos for North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries, Inc. and Massachusetts Health Sciences Library Information Network, and creating presentation graphics for the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Healthcare Delivery Policy Program.
So browse through the Carabangles Etsy Shop and you'll find unique gifts for yourself or that special someone, including greeting cards, jewelry, and fine arts. If you like my style, but don't see exactly what you'd like, please contact me and I may be able to create it just for you!
