Changing lives...one card at a time!
I have always loved cards and stationery. I have a great appreciation for fine quality paper and the small details that go into card making. During high school I worked at three different card shops and enjoyed finding the perfect card for each customer's special occasion. I dabbled at making my own cards over the years but didn’t get ‘the bug' until about 14 years ago when I came up with the idea to use my cards as a fundraiser for M.O.R.E. I held several sales at my home inviting friends and neighbors and have raised over $75,000 for the charity. I donate the supplies that I use to make the cards and all the money raised from the sales go to M.O.R.E. It brings me so much joy to know that my card making passion helps children in need.
My daughter urged me to put my cards on Etsy as a way to reach more people. I was reluctant at first as I felt the time and energy spent on posting the cards and shipping would take me away from making the cards. While this is true, it has not been as time consuming as I first thought. I am enjoying using Etsy as a way to sell my cards. This has provided a much needed creative avenue for me and has made a difference in the lives of the children in Ethiopia supported by M.O.R.E.
